Reverend Deon Alex Johnson is the Founder and Pastor of Antioch Church. Pastor Johnson’s call to the Gospel Ministry came in February of 2001. He preached his first sermon on July 22, 2001 at King Solomon United Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Dr. William C. Barker Jr. Pastor Johnson was ordained to serve in ministry January 6, 2001 at King Solomon United Baptist Church. Prior to founding Antioch Church, Pastor Johnson has served in pastoral leadership at Bethel Baptist Institutional Church under the leadership of Bishop Rudolph W. McKissick Sr. and Bishop Rudolph W. McKissick Jr. respectfully. At Bethel Baptist, Pastor Johnson was ordained an Elder in the Lord’s church. Pastor Johnson also served under the leadership of Dr. Mark L. Griffin of Wayman Ministries as an associate minister. Pastor Johnson has been a minister of the Gospel for 18 years.

Pastor Johnson is a learned preacher. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Liberty University; graduated Cum Laude. He is presently pursuing Masters of Divinity from Rawlings Theological Seminary (Liberty University).

Pastor Johnson serves his country and community well. He is employed with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (23 years) as the Juvenile Liaison Officer in the Programs Unit. Johnson also served in the United States Marine Corps and presently serves as a Chaplain Candidate (1LT) in United States Army Reserves.

In 2014, Mayor Alvin Brown recognized Johnson, for his role in mentoring young men in the community through the Jacksonville Tigers Basketball Academy, which he is the founder.

In 2016, Mayor Lenny Curry recognized Johnson for serving as a panelist in the Community Conversation, Our Future: Addressing Youth Violence in Our Community. Pastor Johnson is a mentor with the 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project. Pastor Johnson has been married to the lovely former Deidra Katrice Williams for over 20 years. They are blessed with two sons: Deon Alex II and Dylan Myles.
